What is Randy's List?
Randy's List is a unique database designed to inform service industry professionals of potential problems with the occasional difficult customer. We use the term "occasional" because we believe that most customers don't fall into this category, but the ones that do can be devastating to a company's bottom line. We collect reliable information on both good and bad customers from members all over the country and put it all together in an easy to search database.
What categories are included in the reports?
Customers are rated on how they pay, their ability or inability to be satisfied and the amount of their input into your project (micro-managers).
Won't a negative report make it difficult for future, repeat business from a customer? (yes, someone really asked this question)
If you wouldn't mind working for a bad customer again, then you wouldn't want to leave negative feedback about them on Randy's List.
How do I use Randy's List?
When signing up, you will be asked to enter reports on previous customers. This helps to build our database of both good and bad customers. After becoming a member, you will be able to search our extensive database for information on your potential customers and see how they've dealt with other service industry professionals in the past. Knowing that this customer has been easy to deal with and prompt with their payments in the past might help when it comes to making payment arrangements that you're comfortable with and that they will agree on. On the other hand, knowing about the "other" customers can save you money, time and lots of headaches.
How do I input future customer ratings after becoming a member?
From the "Add Consumer Report" button under the Account dropdown menu on your dashboard.
Am I able to change or delete a customer's rating after a report has been entered?
Absolutely. Just perform a search for that customer, and you will see a link to "edit report" next to their name.
How will I get information on my customer if they've recently moved to my area?
When a consumer signs up as a member, we ask them to provide their previous addresses. If they are not a Randy's List member, you can perform a search for a customer by name only, and if you see results from other cities that concern you, it's best to try and find out if your potential customer ever lived there.
How reliable are the reports on Randy's List?
We do our best to verify each business when they join Randy's List. We also ask consumers to inform us of false or incorrect reports as they happen. It's best to keep in mind, one bad report on a customer is one thing, several bad reports are a sure thing.
What does it cost for me to be a member?
If you are one of the first 10 in your area to become a member, your first year is Free! If not, then there are already over 100 reports on customers close to you making this site a must for every service provider in your area. Next, the most popular membership is only $9.95 a year (only .83 per month). You will be asked to enter reports on 10 of your previous customers when you sign up. We suggest you enter the best customers you've had along with any difficult ones that you've dealt with. The next plan is $19.95 a year where you only enter 5 previous customers. If you would like to join without entering any customer reports, your cost is $29.95 per year. That's still less than $2.50 a month where finding one potential non-paying customer can cost you 1000's. With each plan, there is a one time, administrative sign up fee of $2.95.
